We don’t have a set Mother’s Day tradition yet. My kids are 3, 1 and baby #3 due in December. However, I’m totally inspired by Gretchen’s post and may use some of her ideas!

Since Mother’s Day is on Sunday, we always go to church. It seems that it ends with lunch out, and lots of family time.
I’m a real cooker. I love to spoil myself in the kitchen. My husband is insistent that I need to stay out of the kitchen on Mother’s Day but he knows how much I love being in there. After years of convincing him, he doesn’t push it anymore.
I usually will make something special with the help of my older boys (now 13 yrs, and 9 yrs). This year I think we will create some playdough cookies. :)
For me, Mother’s Day is about spending stress-free, quality time with my loved ones, including my mom. :)

I don’t have a mother’s day tradition yet, since this will be my first year as a mother! But I’m excited to see what everyone else does!

My only mother’s day tradition is that I give my mom a corsage to wear to church on that day…..I try to find an orchid that is pretty neutral so that it will go with anything she wants to wear. For me, Mother’s Day is about MY mom – not me….even though I am a mom, but I love the ideas Gretch posted. Sis, you are an inspiration!

This is only my second mother’s day so we haven’t started a tradition yet. Last year we went to the zoo because mom’s got in free, but we don’t live near a zoo anymore so we can’t do that again this year. I’d like to just be outside enjoying the sunshine!

We just enjoyed sending each other tear-jerking sentimental cards and laughing at each other when we made each other cry. I loved my mom, and I was blessed to have her.

Every year my hubby and son take me to Fred’s Hickory Inn for their Mother’s Day brunch. This year we’re expecting baby #2 after eight years…we’re very excited!

Sadly my mother passed away over 12 years ago, I was just in my twenties. But she was a perfume lover and as children my dad always had us get her favorite perfume… and she always acted super excited :) I don’t know what my own mother’s day tradition will be… there has never been one before, this is a year of great change. I’m just so very thankful for my children… everyday is mothers day for me.

I lost my mother when I was 32. When she was with us I always gave her flowers for her yard. She loved to grow flowers.
I have 3 grown boys with families, so Mother’s Day is nice for me now :)

Mother’s Day begins with the children’s program at church. My kids will recite their poems, we’ll spend the morning at church and then the family gathers at our house for a special early dinner and talent show. This year will be my nephew’s first time participating in the program as they just recently relocated her from CA. So it’ll be extra special this year.

First we head to church for the Mother’s Day breakfast and a wonderful sermon. When we get home from church my husband and children plant flowers in my flower beds and hang the hanging baskets of flowers. It;s always a lovely day!
